Sacramento Kings’ assistant coach Jay Triano joined Cattles & Ramie Thursday to talk about the teams’ recent losses to top Eastern Conference teams, how the team has transformed this season, and why the Kings can make a run in the postseason. Plus, what do the Kings need to improve on down the stretch?
All that & more on Cattles & Ramie.
“I think that the urgency from the tip has to be there,” Triano said on the show Thursday. “And sometimes if it’s not, you let a team start to feel good about themselves and how they shoot the basketball. And I think that is the next step for us, to not wait for the fourth quarter when the game is on the line to get up and defend the way that we can. But to do it from the jump, and see if we can not let teams feel good about being in our building or playing against us.”
Topics discussed include:
- How do the Kings get Domantas Sabonis to take advantage of mismatches?
- Is Jay also surprised by the Kings’ success this season?
- Who are the third & fourth ball handlers on the Kings?
- Are the Kings more disruptive on defense?
- The growth of Kessler Edwards since he joined the team
- Is urgency the key to the Kings’ defense?
- What is the mindset with 10 games to go in the regular season?
- What makes Kevin Huerter so dangerous?
