NBC Sports’ broadcaster Jim Kozimor joined Chris Watkins and Whitey Gleason Tuesday to talk about the Kings making the postseason, what the atmosphere will be like in Sacramento, and how it resembles the early-2000s. Plus, is Sacramento ready to beat Golden State in the postseason?
“I actually was praying for this,” Kozimor said on the show. “I went to Mass on Sunday saying, ‘don’t move the Warriors into the [five seed]. Don’t move them up at all.’ In order to be the champ, you have to beat the champ. I wanted this as Northern California supremacy, we’ve never had it.”
Additional topics discussed include:
- What was Koz’s reaction to the Kings making the postseason?
- Why is a Kings-Warriors playoff series historic?
- What will the fan experience be like in Sacramento?
- How does the vibe in Sacramento resemble the Arco Arena days?
- Can beating the Warriors in a playoff series be the start of something special?
- Koz tells the story of Julius Erving’s pool party
- Koz also tells the story of Ricky Henderson’s box seats at the Coliseum
