Josh McDaniels Provides Health Update On Darren Waller

Eight weeks into the season and tight end Darren Waller has missed nearly half of the Las Vegas Raiders‘ games.
Waller tweaked his hamstring during pregame warmups before the team’s Week 5 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was pulled after several plays.
While he was able to practice last week, he was held out of Sunday’s loss to the New Orleans Saints.
When asked about his tight end on Monday, Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said there’s no update.
“We’re trying to make a smart decision,” McDaniels said. “Those things can be a little tricky. We have a handful of guys that are dealing with soft tissue issues. If you push them back too early, we’ve all seen what can happen, and then all of a sudden, you’re missing another month. So, we just err on the side of caution as best we can and try to make sure that the players are healthy and ready for the load that we would like them to play in the game.”
Before the season started, Waller and the Raiders agreed to a 3-year contract extension.
So far this season, Darren Waller has logged 16 receptions for 175 yards and only one touchdown.
