Beginning November 30^th and continuing through December 18^th, Sports 1140 KHTK will be helping local families from the Robla School District fill their Winter Wish Lists. The Robla School District , located in Sacramento, made national news in March when the pandemic began. The Robla School District has approximately 1,400 families with roughly 2,100 children in preschool and elementary school. 90% of the families in the Robla School District live below the poverty level and 20% of the families are homeless. When the pandemic hit California and the schools went to distance learning many kids from the Robla School District went “missing”. Distance learning wasn’t possible due to lack of computers, Wi-Fi, or even a home to distance learn from. These same families are in need right now for NEW jackets and toys for the holidays. KHTK is partnering with Sac Republic FC and Raley’s to get the word out about this community in need and collecting donations to help make their holiday wishes come true.
