Injury Report
Both Keegan Murray and Richaun Holmes returned to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s contest in Phoenix due to non-COVID illnesses.
Murray was seen getting reps in with the starting group that included De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, Harrison Barnes, Domantas Sabonis, and Chima Moneke. Murray may get his first start of the preseason on Friday, but the fact that Moneke was included in the group as well could mean that head coach Mike Brown opts to give him a look instead.

Kevin Huerter missed Thursday’s practice due to ankle soreness, but the guard was seen getting shots up and moving around comfortably on a side court.
The fact that Monk was getting work in with the starting group likely points to Sacramento sitting Huerter on Friday and playing it safe so that the 24-year-old is ready for Wednesday’s season opener.
Rotation Notes
Sacramento announced on Thursday that they have waived guards Kent Bazemore and Quinn Cook to bring the roster count down to 16 players (plus two two-way contracts in Neemias Queta and Keon Ellis).
As we enter the final game of preseason play, the Kings will need to cut one more player by October 17th to bring the roster down to the NBA’s maximum of 15. Players that are currently battling for a roster spot include veteran guard Matthew Dellavedova, forward Chima Moneke, and marksman guard Sam Merrill.
Keep an eye on those three players during tonight’s game as Brown and the rest of the Kings coaching staff evaluates the candidates that are vying for the final spot on this roster.
