If Tuesday night was the last time Klay Thompson donned a Golden State Warriors jersey, then he went on with a flicker instead of his usual flame.
Sacramento won its first winner-take-all game in over 43 years on Tuesday night, beating the Warriors by a final of 118-94 at Golden 1 Center to keep their season alive and send Golden State into the offseason.
In 32 minutes of action, Thompson missed all 10 shots he attempted, which included six three-point attempts. He ended the night with one assist and four total rebounds. This was the second time this season the veteran forward was held scoreless.
Sactown Sports’ Kings insider Frankie Cartoscelli noted on X that Tuesday’s scoreless night for Klay Thompson marked just the fifth time over 951 career games (regular season and playoffs) that he has failed to score a single point.
Thompson is a free agent this offseason. After the game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said the team needs him back.
“I know he had a tough night tonight, but what he represents for us…Klay’s presence means so much to the spacing on the floor and to the flow of the offense,” Kerr said after the team’s loss. “He’s still got good years left. And I know I speak for everybody in the organization, [but] we want him back.”

When is the next Sacramento Kings game?
Sacramento will need one more win on Friday night to keep their season alive and clinch a first-round playoff berth, but the New Orleans Pelicans will stand in their way as the two teams will meet for the sixth time this season.
The Pelicans have won all five head-to-head meetings against the Kings this season, including a 135-123 triumph on April 11th at Golden 1 Center.
