Kyle Muller has been named the opening-day starter for the Oakland Athletics Friday.
The 25-year-old Texas native will take part in his first opening-day game this season. He and Oakland will host Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels on opening day, March 30th.
Muller wasn’t about the rotation for the Atlanta Braves in 2022, having one win and one loss to his name. In limited MLB action, Muller had an 8.03 ERA last season, allowing 11 earned runs in three total starts. He also had 12 strikeouts and a 5.22 FIP.

Muller was a part of the offseason trade that sent catcher Sean Murphy to Braves, getting Muller and other prospects in return. Impressing in Triple-A ball in 2022, he pitched 134.2 innings, finishing with a 3.41 ERA, 40 BBs and 159 Ks.
Kyle Muller will take his talents back to Big Leagues, hoping to make a name for himself this season. The budding prospect will lead the charge for Oakland, with a rotation of Paul Blackburn, James Kaprielian, JP Sears and Shintaro Fujinami.
