Only good vibes coming out of the 49ers locker room after the Bye Week, with a host of players returning to the practice field Wednesday. One of those individuals is All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel, returning from a hamstring injury.

Samuel, 26, suffered the injury in Week 7’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, making it through the contest with the ailment before reporting it the following day. The injury forced him to be a non-participant in practice, eventually keeping him out 0f Week 8 altogether.

Joining Samuel at practice is fellow wideout Jauan Jennings, also coming back from a hamstring injury. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk (finger) will also practice in full Wednesday. Meanwhile, linebacker Dre Greenlaw (calf) and cornerback Jason Verrett (knee) will be limited in practice to start the week. Head coach Kyle Shanahan stated that JV was close to returning prior to the Bye Week, hoping to have him back for Week 10.

“I thought he was real close when we considered him two weeks ago,” Shanahan stated Wednesday. “He was here for a lot of the time when we were away. I know he did some stuff down on his own where he goes, and so I expect him to be further [along] this week.”

Additionally, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, offensive lineman Colton McKivitz, and running back Elijah Mitchell practiced fully Wednesday. All three players had their practice windows opened Monday to come off the IR list in the next three weeks, and seem on track to return sooner than later.

“I don’t have to disclose them,” Kyle Shanahan jokingly said. “No they’re full [participants], they’re going. I think I would [say] if they were limited.”

Unfortunately, it looks like defensive linemen Arik Armstead and Samson Ebukam will need more rest, both players not practicing Wednesday. The former has been out of the lineup since Week 4 against the LA Rams, while the latter picked up a quad injury during Monday’s light practice.

Shanahan also revealed that Armstead has a hairline fracture in his left fibula and plantar fascia in his right foot, making him weeks away from stepping back on the field.
