The San Francisco 49ers are riding high after a 4-0 start to the season, especially after Kyle Shanahan revealed minimal injuries Monday.
The 49ers head coach revealed that the Red & Gold suffered minor casualties from Week 4’s rout over the Arizona Cardinals. San Francisco only lost offensive lineman Jon Feliciano over the weekend, now in the concussion protocol with symptoms of a head injury.
Besides that, wide receiver Deebo Samuel (ribs, knee) is considered day-to-day as he battles through those ailments. Samuel missed all practice sessions last week, but was still able to play in Week 4. He finished the game with only six total yards however, likely due to the injuries.
Additionally, both WR Jauan Jennings (shin) and running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) are listed as day-to-day this week. The former missed all practice days leading up to Week 4, while the latter tweaked his knee during Thursday’s session. Depending on their ability to practice, both men have a shot to play against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday night.

A matchup that has yielded great showings in years’ past, the 49ers are fired up to be hosting a Sunday Night Football game against their rivals. That doesn’t change how they’ll prepare though, expecting a tough clash with a Dallas squad coming off a big win over the New England Patriots.
“I’m a fan of football,” Kyle Shanahan stated during his Monday conference call. “I mean, that’s what’s great for our league and there’s nothing more fun than being a part of it as a player or coach and these are kind of the games you look for and you enjoy. But it’s a whole week to get there, big preparations, [it’s] still gonna be the same type of game as always just starts a little bit later.”
