The Las Vegas Raiders survived a late-game comeback by the New England Patriots Sunday to secure their third win of the season.

The Raiders started the fourth quarter with a 13-minute drive that resulted in a field goal and a nine-point lead. In just over three and a half minutes though, Mac Jones led the Patriots down the field, with running back Rhamondre Stevenson bringing New England within two after rushing in a touchdown.

A quick three-and-out by the Raiders gave the Patriots a shot to march down the field again. But defense again saved the day, as defensive end Maxx Crosby sealed the victory with a safety, and Las Vegas defeated New England 21-17.

Unfortunately though, the Silver & Black lost their starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to an injury early in the game. Garoppolo reportedly suffered a back injury in the second quarter, with CBS reporting in the third quarter that the quarterback was taken to a local hospital.

Before he left the game, Garoppolo threw for 162 yards with a 12-yard touchdown throw to fellow Patriots alum Jakobi Meyers. Backup Brian Hoyer finished the game for the Raiders.

With the win, the Las Vegas Raiders now sit at 3-3. The team travels to Chicago next Sunday to take on the 1-5 Bears.
