Linebacker Robert Spillane intercepted Jets quarterback Zach Wilson in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, helping secure a win as the Las Vegas Raiders beat New York 16-12.
Wilson and the Jets had one more chance to score. After Spillane’s interception, the Raiders offense could not convert a first down, giving the ball back to New York with 1:05 left on the clock. On the final play of the game, Wilson threw a hail Mary got deflected and hit the ground. Game Raiders.
The low-scoring game was a field goal shootout until the fourth quarter when rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell connected with rookie tight end Michael Mayer for the game’s lone touchdown.
Josh Jacobsbuilt upon the preview week’s success by hitting triple-digit rushing yards, recording 116 rushing yards against the Jets. He added 11 yards through the air, too. In Week 9 against the New York Giants, Jacobs rushed for 98 yards, his then-highest of the season.
