Immediately after the Las Vegas Raiders beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-7 Sunday, they hopped on a plane for Los Angeles.
The Rams host the Silver & Black for joint practices throughout the week ahead of their preseason game Saturday. Coach Josh McDaniels said the idea to head straight to LA was to try and get the most out of their week.
“We can’t travel on a mandatory day off, so we just thought this is the best thing logistically for us, is to go ahead and travel after the game. And that way we can kind of have our feet on the ground here and not try to do too much the day before we’re getting ready to practice with another football team,” McDaniels said, adding that if they had taken Monday off in Las Vegas, then Tuesday would feel like a day of cramming.Ā ” We just didn’t feel like that was conducive to giving ourselves the best opportunity to have a productive day. So, we thought this was best.”
Joint practices are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. Both teams are expected to then have Friday off. One player who is unlikely to practice is Rams receiver Cooper Kupp.
The last time the Las Vegas Raiders and LA Rams met was in Week 14 last season when newly-signed Rams quarterback Baker Mayfield executed a game-winning, 98-yard drive.
