The Raiders have signed their first-round pick, Tyree Wilson.

Original Story

As the NFL released the schedule for the 2023 season, the Las Vegas Raiders dropped some news that five of their nine draft picks are now part of the team.

The team announced on Thursday that receiver Tre Tucker (third-round pick), quarterback Aidan O’Connell (fourth-round pick), linebacker Amari Burney (sixth-round pick), safety Chris Smith II (fifth-round pick), and defensive tackle Nesta Jade Silvera (seventh-round pick) are all now under contract. The terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The most notable signee of the group could be O’Connell, who joins a quarterback room led by free-agent signings Jimmy Garoppolo and Brian Hoyer. Chase Garbers is the lone QB returning to the team from last season.

Over five seasons with Purdue, O’Connell threw for 9,219 yards and 65 touchdowns. He left Purdue as the school’s all-time leader in completion percentage (66.7), passer rating (141.8) and 500-yard passing games (two).

Rookies who remain unsigned for the Raiders include:

  • First-round selection Tyree Wilson, Edge, Texas Tech
  • Second-round selection Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame
  • Third-round selection Bryon Young, DL, Alabama
  • Fourth-round selection Jakorian Bennett, CB, Maryland
