The Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs will face each other twice within the span of a month. And the first matchup comes this Sunday, Nov. 26.
A win over their division rivals would be huge for the 5-6 Raiders, especially with a Bye looming the following week. The last time the Silver & Black got a win over the Chiefs was in Kansas City in 2020. In 125 matchups, the Chiefs lead the all-time regular season series with a 70-53-2 record against the Raiders.
Even though the Chiefs are coming off a Monday night loss, interim coach Antonio Pierce knows that despite being on a short week, Kansas City “probably have the game plan against us.”
“They know us like the back of their hand. And the same here. Obviously, a lot of respect for what Andy [Reid] has done there, [Steve] Spagnuolo, Patrick Mahomes, [Travis] Kelce, Chris Jones, name them, they have All-Pros across the board. It’s a challenge. The rivalry, this has been a team that’s obviously won Super Bowls and they’re a championship-caliber team,” Pierce said. “They’ve dominated the division since Patrick Mahomes has taken over. It’s our job to go out there and give us the best fight. But give them their flowers, they’re the defending Super Bowl champions. And regardless of what happened last night, we expect the best from them.”

Wide receiver Davante Adams is still looking for his first Raiders win over the Chiefs. In his first year, Kansas City took both games over Las Vegas, but Adams noticed the intensity between the teams, comparing it to his time in Green Bay when the Packers would face the Chicago Bears.
“For the way that they’ve historically won that battle, you would think that it wouldn’t be as much. I think the way we would approach the Bears game when I was in Green Bay, it wasn’t like, ‘Oh my god like we got to get up for the Bears.’ It was like a disrespectful approach almost and sometimes you feel that from them out there, which at the end of the day they play how they want to play and sometimes you feel that they kind of respect that game and they take it to the grave, so it was good battles and it’s two good teams going at it,” Adams said. “So, we just got to do our part to make sure we come out on top.”
Even rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell says he feels the intensity leading up to Sunday.
“You can feel it pretty early on, and even been talked about in the offseason,” O’Connell said. “Obviously, they’re defending champs, so it’s going to take a high level of execution and like we talked about passion and energy, and we’re going to have to play a really good game because they’re a great team.”
