Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal joined Chris & Co. Tuesday afternoon to talk about the latest news and rumors concerning the relocation of the Oakland A’s.
Even though Nevada lawmakers did not vote on SB-509 before adjourning Monday, Akers wouldn’t say the deal is 100% dead yet.
“It’s tough to say officially [because] they still haven’t put out the agenda for the proposed special session. There have been reports that it’s not going to be on there,” Akers said. “It’s tough to say officially, but there’s been a lot of rumblings saying this might be it for the A’s in Vegas.”
Topics discussed include:
- If the A’s stadium deal isn’t in the Nevada special session, “then it’s a pretty good indication that it’s pretty much over.”
- Is there an appetite for baseball in Las Vegas
- Who on the Nevada side has been the driving force to bring the Oakland A’s to Las Vegas?
- What are the next steps to keep the stadium deal alive in Las Vegas?
