It hasn’t taken long for Lewis Brinson to win over San Francisco Giants fans.
If anybody was on the fence about the 28-year-old before, Monday night’s two-home run performance against the hated rival Los Angeles Dodgers likely helped push fans in the right direction as the outfielder continues to hold a hot bat since being acquired from the Houston Astros.
After going two-for-six over the weekend during San Francisco’s three-game sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies, Brinson got the start in centerfield on Monday for the Giants’ series opener at Dodger Stadium.
Freddie Freeman’s two-run blast gave the Dodgers a 2-0 lead early as it appeared that the Giants would continue to fall victim to their National League West counterpart. Instead, Brinson took things into his own hands.

Brinson took a 92 mph fastball from Los Angeles start Andrew Heaney and drilled it over the center field fence, 429 feet from home plate. The two-run shot was Brinson’s first big league home run since September 30, 2021, and it was an important one for the Giants as it tied things up at 2-2.
The two-run blast would jump-start San Francisco’s offense, as home runs from J.D. Davis, Thairo Estrada, and David Villar gave the Giants a 6-2 lead in the fourth inning.
Leading 6-4 in the top of the ninth inning, Brinson provided the Giants with another insurance run in the form of a 380-foot solo shot to right center, his second home run of the game and his first multi-home run game since August 11, 2021.

“A great night. We got a win against a great Dodgers team,” Brinson said postgame of his performance. “Two home runs were nice, but it’s nice beating them.”
Over four games with San Francisco, Brinson is batting .364 with two home runs, three RBI, and a 1.364 OPS.
