SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

Logan Webb, last year’s National League Cy Young runner-up, is the only San Francisco Giants player to appear on MLB’s Top 100 list heading into the 2024 season.

The Atlanta Braves top the list with nine players appearing, while the Giants’ Bay Area counterparts, the Oakland A’s, didn’t have anyone appear on the list. The Athletics were one of three teams — along with the Washington Nationals and Detroit Tigers — to not have a player appear on the list.

Webb came in at 42nd overall, a 55-point jump from last year’s list. It was a rocky season for the Giants, which is probably why the Rocklin native appeared on the list. But Webb remained a constant for the team, throwing a career-high and league-leading 216 innings last season.

Logan Webb posted an 11-13 record, with a 3.25 ERA, and 1.07 WHIP over 33 starts. Unfortunately, he received little run support from his San Francisco teammates during the 2023 season. In fact, Webb ranked dead-last in run support among all MLB starters with 20 or more starts (3.09 runs per start).

When does MLB Spring Training start?

Both the Giants and A’s hit the fields on Saturday, Feb. 24. The Athletics face off against the Colorado Rockies and the Giants take on the Chicago Cubs.
