March Madness descends upon Sacramento this week.

On Selection Sunday, we learned Alabama, Houston, Kansas and Purdue locked in the one seeds in their respective regions. But which teams will compete at the Golden 1 Center to kick off round one of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament?

When does the tournament start?

The NCAA tournament begins with the first four games on Tuesday, March 14. None of these games are played in Sacramento.

No. 16 SE Missouri State vs. No. 16. Texas A&M CC | 3:30 p.m. PST
No. 11 Pitt vs. No. 11 Mississippi St. | 6 p.m. PST

No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson vs. No. 16 Texas Southern| 3:30 p.m. PST
No. 11 Nevada vs. No. 11 Arizona State | 6 p.m. PST

Which teams are playing at the Golden 1 Center?

Schools traveling to Sacramento include:

  • Utah St.
  • Missouri
  • Princeton
  • Arizona
  • Boise St.
  • Northwestern
  • UNC Ashville
  • UCLA

When do games start?

Games kick off in Sacramento at 10:40 a.m. Thursday, March 16. All times are listed as PST.

From the South region:

(10) Utah St. vs. (7) Missouri at 10:40 a.m.

(15) Princeton vs. (2) Arizona at 1:30 p.m.

From the West region:

(10) Boise St. vs. (7) Northwestern at 4:35 p.m.

(15) UNC Ashville vs. (2) UCLA at 7:05 p.m.

Session 3 teams and start times will be announced at the conclusion of Thursday’s matchups.

How to watch March Madness

Fans can still purchase tickets to see the action in person. If you’re unable to make it to the Golden 1 Center, games can be seen on TBS, TNT, TruTV, and CBS stations.
