Briggs joined the show to discuss his excitement for the upcoming USL season, his first as head coach for Sacramento
This week on The Drive, Sacramento Republic FC head coach Mark Briggs joined the show to talk soccer and much more.
Briggs, 38, is currently in his first season as head coach of the Republic.
Republic FC had just played their season opener on March 7th, a 1-1 draw against FC Tulsa before the season was put on an indefinite hold on March 11th due to the coronavirus outbreak.
An end to the break is in sight, with the USL announcing on Thursday that July 11th is the provisional start date for the resumption of the season.
Last season, Briggs was the academy director for Sacramento before being picked as the replacement for former head coach Simon Elliot.
The former midfielder has been a part of professional football since 1998.
Briggs joined the show to talk about how the team has dealt with the COVID-19 situation, the process of keeping his players mentally and physically ready for the resumption of the season and much more.
