Despite losing to the New England Patriots in Mexico City on Sunday, the Oakland Raiders made headlines when running back Marshawn Lynch sat for the American national anthem while standing for the Mexican national anthem that followed shortly after.
President Donald Trump quickly criticized Lynch via Twitter, pushing for the NFL to suspend him.
Marshawn Lynch of the NFL’s Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down.

This isn’t the first time Trump has tweeted his frustration toward the anthem protests. In October, he showed the nation his stance when he tweeted that players should be “fired.”
Many athletes, critics and everyday citizens found this offensive.
This time around, it was a mom that took to Twitter to display her displeasure. Marshawn’s mom, Delisa Lynch, responded to Trump on Twitter, making fun of the president’s failed bid to buy the Buffalo Bills in 2014.
what NFL team do Trump own ? oh yeah they wouldnt let him have one ,!! LMAO https://t.co/1rPa5jfMjE

No response from the president has been sent yet but, knowing Trump, he’ll be quick to react.
