Former Sacramento King Matt Barnes joined Chris & Co Thursday to talk about the Sacramento Kings clinching their first postseason berth since 2006, what this means for the city of Sacramento, and what’s next for Mike Brown’s squad. Plus, can Domantas Sabonis be in the running for Most Valuable Player?

“I mean, [Domantas Sabonis’] numbers this year have been incredible, his double-doubles, his triple-doubles. I think if he’s able to put another one of these seasons together next year, I think he’ll really be in the midst of the MVP conversation because I feel like he should be in it this year,” Barnes said on the show.

Topics discussed include:

  • What was Matt’s reaction to the Kings clinching the playoffs?
  • Matt reflects on the Kings prior to the 16-season drought
  • How do the players feel about this moment?
  • What has changed for the Kings this year compared to others?
  • How important is stability for the Sacramento Kings?
  • What have Monte McNair and Mike Brown created in SacTown?
  • Matt’s thoughts on Domantas Sabonis
  • Should teams want to play the Kings in the playoffs?
