It took less than a day for a fight to break out at the Raiders and Rams’ joint practice. According to The Athletic’s Tashan Reed, defensive end Maxx Crosby and Los Angeles running back Cam Akers got into it after running drill.
After what Reed described as a “dead play” Crosby chased down Akers and tried to punch the ball loose. Akers apparently wasn’t a fan of that and threw a punch in retaliation.
Reed went on to report that Akers was ejected for the remainder of practice. Rams coach Sean McVay said he didn’t see what happened but didn’t believe it was an issue.
Akers got kicked out of practice, assumedly since he bumped Crosby first after he tried to knock the ball loose. Crosby is still on the sideline but was held out of the rest of the drill. https://t.co/SZlcKiw9oP

Following the incident, Maxx Crosby was asked about what happened between him and Akers.
“I’m just doing what I do,” Crosby said with a smile. “He didn’t like that so he got what he got and it is what it is.”
While there were no fights between the Raiders and 49ers last week, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times notes this isn’t new for the Rams. Since 2016, Rams players have fought with Chargers, Cowboys and Bengals. Last year, defensive tackle famously swung his helmet at a player.
