Maxx Crosby joined the NFL in 2019 when the Las Vegas Raiders selected him in the fourth round of that year’s draft.

Since then, the team has only made the playoffs once, as a wildcard team in 2021. If there’s any solace in their 26-19 loss, it’s that it was to the eventual AFC Super Bowl representatives, the Cincinnati Bengals. Crosby finished that game with one sack and six tackles.

Speaking to the media Thursday, he said he’s feeling the improvements the defense has made since last year, especially with the addition of Marcus Peters. But he took a beat after he was asked if he’s anxious for the Raiders to become a contender.

“For me, I worry about the day. I’m worried about getting better today and tomorrow when it gets where, I’ll worry about that,” Crosby said. “Every single day, I come in here and think about winning. I don’t do this year-round to come in and not make the playoffs. I’m sick of that sh*t. I want to keep winning and I want to get back to the playoffs. I want to be in Cincinnati, on the road, in a hostile environment. That’s why I play the game. That’s why I work the way I work. I come here and I do this all year. And, like I said, I want to win championships. I want to be at the top of the game. I want to be the number one guy, regardless of position.”

Crosby went on to say he’s his hardest critic and his biggest competitor and he challenges himself every day.

“I’m fired up for this organization. I love all the people in here,” Crosby added. “And I’m really just trying to be my best version of myself and lead by example.”

And with Super Bowl LVIII taking place in Las Vegas in February, Crosby said he’d love to play in the big game in their hometown.

“We’re worried about the now, just getting better, improving,” Crosby said. “That’ll be here in February. We’ve got a ton of work to do. So, we’re fired up.”
