Age is just a number.
Phil Mickelson defeated Father Time and the rest of the field at the PGA Championship to make golf history. At the age of 50, Mickelson became the oldest major winner.
Phil has always chased the Major Grand Slam and for his part he was becoming just as famous for his 6 2nd place finishes at the US Open. While he is still chasing that goal he now has something all to himself. Mickelson over the last four days defied golf history. He had others pushing him but when Phil began the walk on 18 he knew it, the audience that adores him knew it, he just had to finish it.
With his brother on the bag it made the incredible moment that much better. Mickelson now has 1 British Open title, 2 PGA Championships and 3 green jackets at the Masters.
Mickelson made history, golf is better for it and so is the sports world.
We are always anxious to grant the next great new thing. I hope everyone enjoyed one of the all time greats dialing in for 4 days of great golf. It was amazing to see the response by those that witnessed the moment.
Congrats to you Phil Mickelson thanks for making history and winning one for the old guys.
