Mike Brown wants Keegan Murray to be more ‘selfish’ at times on offense

Sacramento Kings’ head coach Mike Brown joined Cattles & Ramie Monday to discuss his team’s success this season. The pair also asked coach Brown about his All-Stars, De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, and how rookie Keegan Murray can be more assertive on offense.
“He is skilled, I’m telling you, he is a skilled young man. And right now, he’s just give our opponent a little too much respect at times. And he also gives his teammates a little too much respect at times,” coach Mike Brown said on Cattles & Ramie Monday. “Sometimes he’s got to be selfish and he’s got to say, ‘No, I’m taking over’ or ‘No, I’m going to go do this’. But when he does it, he can’t shy away from contact, he can’t shy away from anything. He’s got to go up, through and over somebody with some sort of force to let, not only that opponent know that I’m here, but also to let his teammates know.”
All that and much more on Cattles & Ramie.
Topics discussed include:
- What surprised coach the most about De’Aaron Fox?
- How comparable are Sabonis and Nikola Jokic’s games to one another?
- Why does Domas get so many no-calls?
- How much has Keegan Murray progressed this season?
- Why Keegan should be more aggressive on offense
- How has the group grown together as a unit the last 12 months?
