On Friday’s edition of The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross, Zack Bayrouty, the voice of the Sacramento River Cats, joined the guys to discuss the recent success of their developmental program, sharing a stadium with the Oakland Athletics next season, and plenty more.
Starting the conversation a bit looser, they discussed how Bayrouty has been adjusting to the city of Sacramento since joining their broadcast team roughly one year ago.
The conversation shifted to the topic of A’s new (temporary) home and some of the logistics that will surely continue to be debated as the moment grows closer.
Of course, there also are a handful of River Cats who were recently promoted to play for the San Francisco Giants and leaving a notable mark: Luis Matos and Heliot Ramos.
Other topics discussed include:
- Different styles of broadcasting for each sport
- Is baseball the most difficult sport to broadcast?
- With Matos and Ramos with San Francisco, what new River Cat prospects should we be keeping an eye on?
- The importance of the minor league, specifically relating to AAA in Sacramento
- The SF Giants are rolling right now. What’s contributed to their recent success?
- Is Sutter Health Park suited to host both the Oakland Athletics and the Sacramento Rivers Cats for years?
