Free agent slugger Juan Soto has meetings scheduled with four teams this week in California, ESPN reported Tuesday.

The 26-year-old outfielder batted .288 with 41 homers, 109 RBIs and 128 runs for the New York Yankees in 2024.

In addition to the Yankees and the reported co-favorite New York Mets, the Scott Boras client also will hear pitches from the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox.

Juan Soto is expected to command one of the longest, most lucrative contracts in MLB history. Analysts have predicted as many as 14 years and a total value between $500 and $700 million.

A four-time All-Star, Soto is a career .285/.421/.532 hitter with 201 homers and 592 RBIs in 936 games with the Washington Nationals (2018-22), San Diego Padres (2022-23) and Yankees. He won a World Series (2019) and a batting title (2020) with the Nationals.

Brent Rooker capped off an impressive 2024 season by bringing home some hardware.

The Athletics’ slugger collected the first Silver Slugger Award of his career on Monday night, becoming the first A’s player to win the award since former third baseman Eric Chavez did so in 2002.

Rooker, 30, is the 11th A’s player since 1980 (the first year that the award was created) to win a Silver Slugger Award.

Rooker underwent surgery last month to repair a forearm injury, but the A’s expect the 2023 All-Star to be ready for Spring Training in February.

It was a memorable 2024 campaign for Rooker, as the Mississippi State alumni batted a career-high .293 while also setting career-highs in home runs (39), RBI (112), hits (160), runs scored (82), and stolen bases (11).

Among MLB leaders, Rooker finished the season tied for fifth in home runs, tied for fourth in RBI, sixth in slugging percentage (.562), and eighth in on-base-plus-slugging-percentage (.927).
