The Oakland Athletics announced this week that outfielder Esteury Ruiz underwent a procedure to fix the patellar tendon in his right knee.

Ruiz, 25, has not appeared in a game for the Athletics since May 22nd. The outfielder finished his brief 2024 season with two home runs and five stolen bases in just 55 plate appearances (29 games) following a 2023 campaign that saw Ruiz swipe 67 bases.
