The difference between the 2024 and 2023 Oakland Athletics seasons has been notable thus far.

One year ago, the A’s held a record of 9-33 through 42 games. Entering play on Monday night, Oakland (19-23) sits just 3.5 games behind the first-place Seattle Mariners in the American League West standings.

What has been behind the Athletics’ rise from a laughingstock to becoming the near-500 team they are today?

MLB.com’s Oakland Athletics beat reporter Martín Gallegos joined Stiles & Watkins on Monday to break down what has been behind the A’s return to relevancy as they hover around the .500 mark and set their sights on more.
