The legend of Mason Miller continues to grow.

Amid an impressive rookie season for the Oakland Athletics, Miller has been selected as a member of the American League’s roster for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game in Arlington, Texas on Tuesday, July 16th.

Miller, the 97th selection from the 2021 MLB Draft, has been electric over 31 relief appearances this season, pitching to a 2.39 ERA while striking out an incredible 66 batters over 37.2 innings pitched (15.8 strikeouts per nine innings pitched). The righty has been a lock-down closer, securing 14 of his 16 save chances thus far.

The 25-year-old is the first rookie reliever selected to the All-Star Game since David Bednar of the Pittsburgh Pirates got the nod in 2021. Miller also is the first A’s rookie reliever to make the midsummer classic roster since Ryan Cook did so in 2012.
