San Francisco Giants sign fourth-round pick Dakota Jordan

The San Francisco Giants have signed fourth-round pick Dakota Jordan to a contract worth nearly $2 million.
Jordan, who just finished his sophomore season at Mississippi State, is an outfielder with power and a high walk rate that the Giants will look to add to its growing minor-league core.
Over 63 appearances in 2024, Jordan hit 20 home runs, drove in 72 RBI, and batted .354 en route to securing Second Team All-SEC honors.

Jordan, the top-ranked player available after the first day of the draft, slid to No. 116 overall in the fourth round to the Giants.
The 21-year-old was ranked No. 34 on MLB Pipeline’s big board and passed on football (he played wide receiver) to focus on baseball. He racked up 30 home runs, 23 doubles, and 112 RBIs in two seasons in Starkville.
San Francisco will hope to see Jordan contributing at the MLB level in the coming years alongside All-Star outfielder Heliot Ramos.
