The injury bug has bitten the San Francisco Giants to start this season, but reinforcements are on the way.

Prior to Monday night’s walk-off win over the Houston Astros, San Francisco shared updates on several key players as they work their way back from the injured list.

Reigning National League Cy Young Award winner and prized free-agent acquisition Blake Snell (left groin strain) and 2021 American League Cy Young Award winner Robbie Ray (Tommy John surgery recovery) are both progressing from their injuries as they look to return for the Giants’ stretch run this summer.

Here is a full list of updates–including news on one player who will join the Sacramento River Cats this week.

SF Giants Injury Updates

  • Tristan Beck (vascular injury) is throwing out to 120 feet this week.
  • Nick Ahmed (left wrist sprain) will begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Sacramento in Reno.
  • Alex Cobb (right shoulder injury) is scheduled to throw a bullpen on Tuesday.
  • Jung Hoo Lee (left shoulder surgery) will begin rehab this week in San Francisco.
  • Marco Luciano (right hamstring strain) is continuing all on-field baseball activities.
  • Tom Murphy (left knee sprain) will start light baseball activity this week and will throw out to 90 feet.
  • Robbie Ray (left elbow UCL surgery recovery) is scheduled to throw a bullpen [Monday] and is slated to pitch in an ACL game this Thursday.
  • Blake Snell (left groin strain) is throwing off flat ground and plans to progress to throwing off the mound later in the week.
  • LaMonte Wade Jr. (left hamstring strain) took groundballs on Monday and will progress to hitting on the field Tuesday.
  • Austin Warren (left elbow UCL surgery recovery) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Class A San Jose on Wednesday.
