As the San Francisco Giants deal with various injuries, the organization is promoting from within to fill the gaps.
Reggie Crawford, the Giants’ number-eight prospect according to MLB.com, has been promoted to AAA Sacramento, according to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Alex Pavlovic.
The left-handed pitcher started the 2024 season with the Richmond Flying Squirrels, where he posted a 1-1 record, 4.66. ERA, and 1.03 WHIP over seven appearances (one start).
Crawford, 23, struck out 19 batters over just 9.2 innings pitched, good enough for an average of 17.6. strikeouts per nine innings pitched.

Along with Crawford, the Giants have also promoted outfielder Hunter Bishop and left-handed pitcher Raymond Burgos to the Sacramento River Cats before Tuesday’s game at Sutter Health Park.
San Francisco’s roster has been decimated by injuries, with outfielders Jung Hoo Lee (shoulder), and Michael Conforto (hamstring), along with left-hander Blake Snell (adductor), designated hitter Jorge Soler (shoulder), catcher Tom Murphy (knee), and shortstop Nick Ahmed (wrist) on the injured list.
In addition, outfielder Austin Slater is on the 7-day concussion list, while catcher Patrick Bailey is dealing with cold symptoms and hasn’t played since coming off the concussion list on Saturday.
As the Giants wait for some of their core players to return, young talent like Crawford, Bishop, and Burgos will get looks at the AAA level.
