The A’s Are Now Tied For First Place In The AL West

With today's 7-1 victory over the Houston Astros, the Oakland Athletics are now tied with Houston atop the American League West.

With today’s 7-1 victory over the Houston Astros, the Oakland Athletics are now tied with Houston atop the American League West.

Tied the Oakland single-game record with eight doubles today.

On June 24th, the Athletics trailed the Astros by 11.5 games in the American League West with a record of 40-38. Since then, Oakland is 32-11 while the Astros are 22-20. It is also the first time the Athletics have been in first place since Opening Day when they were 1-0. It is also the first time the A’s have held a share of first place outside of the month of April since August 25, 2014.

The Athletics have the chance to be in sole possession of first place with a victory Sunday against the Astros.
