Bronny James, son of future Hall of Famer LeBron James, is expected to remain in the 2024 NBA Draft, per The Athletic‘s Shams Charania.

There were previous questions surrounding his health after suffering a cardiac arrest in July, which slowed his freshman campaign at the University of Southern California.

Currently projected as a second-rounder, it will be interesting to see how teams value James. Of course, his dad has publicly expressed his desire to play with his son in the NBA.

Naturally, many are questioning how that could affect his draft stock.

More on Bronny James

Bronny James is one of many prospects going through typical measurements at the NBA Draft Combine. Despite being listed at 6’4 in recent years, James measured in at 6’1.5 without shoes, causing concerns about how he could translate to the big leagues.

But he also projects to be a pesky defender, and his recorded 6’7.25 wingspan bodes well for that part of his game.

Having played just one season of college basketball at USC, James averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists on 36.6 percent from three, 26.7 percent from three, and 67.7 percent from the free throw line throughout 25 games played.

That production level can seem underwhelming, but his IQ and physical tools could enamor teams later in the draft.

When is the next NBA off-season date of interest?

The NBA Draft is now a two-night event.

Wednesday, June 26th will act as the first night of the 2024 NBA Draft, where the Sacramento Kings will make their first-round selection (13th). The second round of the draft will be held on Thursday, June 27th, where the Kings will use its 45th overall pick.

Sacramento hasn’t had a first-round pick since 2022, when it selected Iowa product Keegan Murray with the fourth overall pick.
