The NBA formally announced its new mega-TV deal with Disney, NBC, and Amazon on Wednesday. The historic 11-year, $76 billion pact will remove TNT from broadcasting NBA games following the upcoming 2024-25 season.
This also means that the beloved program Inside the NBA, which stars Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith, and Charles Barkley, will likely end next May at the conclusion of the Conference Finals.
Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross to share what’s next for TNT after being pushed out of the new TV deal, predict if a lawsuit is on the way, and much more.
Plus: McCarthy shares why he believes there is still a chance that the Inside the NBA guys could return after the coming season, whether it be on TNT or another network.
Topics Discussed: Inside the NBA & the new NBA TV deal
- McCarthy says that next season will be Inside the NBA‘s last
- What will TNT do next after losing TV rights?
- A lawsuit is on the way as TNT looks to fight to get broadcast rights back
