On Friday, Kevin “Whitey” Gleason and Kyle Draper, play-by-play broadcaster for the Sacramento Kings — aka, The Drive Guys — were joined by NBA Insider for Heavy, Sean Deveney to discuss the latest on the Los Angeles Lakers coaching search, his forecast on Malik Monk’s looming free agency, and plenty more.

Recent varying reports have surfaced regarding the Lakers head coach opening. JJ Redick appeared as a frontrunner, but now UCONN’s Dan Hurley seems to be leading the conversation.

During the conversation, Sean Deveney shared his perspective on the recent reports, what direction he thinks the Lakers will go, and the finances it could require to pull Hurley out of college basketball.

Toward the end of the conversation, The Drive Guys asked Sean Deveney his outlook on Malik Monk’s free agency. The Kings are limiting to offering a roughly four-year, $78 million. What other teams could compete for his talent and potentially outbid Sacramento?

Al that and plenty of more great discussion throughout the segment can be heard in the video above.

When is the next NBA off-season date of interest?
