Buddy Hield on joining the other side of Kings vs. Warriors

A familiar face will be suiting up for the Golden State Warriors next season.
Former Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield inked a two-year, $21 million deal with the Warriors in free agency as Golden State grapples with the departure of franchise great Klay Thompson.
With Thompson heading to the reigning Western Conference champion Dallas Mavericks, Golden State supplemented the loss of one sharpshooter with the addition of another, as Hield will join Stephen Curry in the same backcourt next season,
Since the start of the 2016-17 season (Hield’s first in the NBA), Curry has led all players with 2,154 made triples. Ranked second on that list? Buddy Hield with 1,924.
Of course, a majority of Hield’s made triples have come with the Kings, where he called home for six seasons until being included in the Domantas Sabonis-Tyrese Haliburton trade that sent him to the Indiana Pacers in 2022.
Hield is Sacramento’s franchise leader in made three-point field goals (1,248), and now, as a member of the Warriors, he will have a chance to return to Golden 1 Center twice per season.
When asked about his thoughts on returning to face the Kings wearing Golden State across his chest, Hield relayed that he still has love for fans in Sacramento.

More on former Kings guard Buddy Hield
“You know, fans in Sacramento are passionate too, you know,” Hield said while speaking to Warriors media last week. “All love. Sacramento is a team that really looked out for me over the years, and I’m happy for that. But I’m on the other side now. It’s still all love in Sacramento, though.”
Hield, 31, has played eight NBA seasons since being drafted out of Oklahoma with the sixth pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
The sharpshooting guard has played seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, and Philadelphia 76ers. During his time in the league, he holds averages of 15.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game on 44/40/86 shooting splits.
When is the next Sacramento Kings offseason date of interest?
The dog days of the NBA offseason have arrived.
