As we inch closer to the start of training camp later this month, the Sacramento Kings have announced a series of coaching changes, promotions, and hires ahead of the 2024-25 season.
In light of former associate head coach Jordi Fernandez’s exit to become head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, Kings head coach Mike Brown has promoted assistant Jay Triano to associate head coach.

Today, the Sacramento Kings announced promotions and new hires ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Jay Triano has been promoted to associate head coach. Jawad Williams has been elevated to assistant coach/director of player development and Charles Allen has been promoted to player development coach. Dipesh Mistry will now serve as head video coordinator/player development coach. Sam Logwood has been named assistant video coordinator. Additionally, Shandon Goldman has been promoted to video assistant.
The Kings also announced that Riccardo Fois and Jim Moran have been named assistant coaches.
Fois, a native of Olbia, Italy, joins the Kings after spending three seasons (2021-24) as an assistant coach with the Arizona Wildcats. Prior to his time at Arizona, he spent two seasons from 2019-21 with the Phoenix Suns in a player development role, following five seasons at Gonzaga as the Director of Analytics (2014-19). Fois began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Peppederine, for two seasons (2012-14), after his professional playing career in the Serie B Basket in Italy (2009-12).
Moran, a Syosset, N.Y. native, joins Sacramento after serving as the head coach of the Portland Trailblazers G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix during the 2023-24 G League season. Previously, he served as an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons (2021-23) and Portland Trail Blazers (2015-2021). Moran began his NBA career in player development for the G League’s Maine Red Claws in 2013 and was Portland’s associate video coordinator for the 2014-15 season.
He played his entire professional career from 2001-11 for CB Gran Canaria in Spain’s Liga ACB and became the first player in Gran Canaria history to have his jersey retired.
When is the next Sacramento Kings offseason date of interest?
Now that we know when the Kings will suit up for their season-opener, we can look forward to October 24th for the Beam Team’s season-opening matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Training camps will begin at the end of September, meaning there could still be a move or two up general manager Monte McNair’s sleeve to round out Sacramento’s roster before players report to Golden 1 Center.
