De’Aaron Fox’s signature shoe hits stores this weekend

Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox has a new signature shoe hitting stores this weekend.

Curry Brand, a partner with Under Armour headed by Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, will release the Fox 1 in ‘The Beam’ colorway on Friday, December 27th–Fox’s first signature shoe since signing with Curry Brand this past summer.

“The first signature shoe for Sacramento Kings guard and Curry Brand athlete De’Aaron Fox, the Fox 1 is designed to match De’Aaron’s lightning-fast speed, maximize his performance on the court and showcase the best of his personality,” Under Armour said of Fox’s shoe in an official release. “Having spent his whole NBA career in Sacramento, it was only right that he and Curry Brand create a shoe to pay tribute to Sactown and their fans.

‘The Beam’ colorway is cleverly named for the Kings’ now famous rallying cry and tradition of lighting the beam after a victory and prominently features the Kings’ primary color of purple, using two different shades on various features of the shoe.

“The “foxtail” strap and accent paneling, which creates zig zag patterns around the shoe, are light purple while the primary upper mesh, midsole and heel support are royal purple, closer to the Kings’ signature shade. Neon green features on the sneaker complete this Sactown-inspired colorful theme, with neon green representing the bright light that comes from the beam after a win.

“The sneaker sports neon green fur at the top of the tongue, the perfect backdrop for a purple DFox logo, and a neon green Flow outsole to give players that best-in-class traction and grip.”

When is the next Sacramento Kings game?

Sacramento will head south for a one-game trip to face the Los Angeles Lakers for the final time this regular season.

Los Angeles has won all three matchups against the Kings thus far, including a two-game sweep at Golden 1 Center last week that was capped off by a 103-99 win on Saturday.

The Lakers haven’t swept the Kings in a four-game regular season series since the 2009-10 season.
