De’Aaron Fox on his NBA future: “I just want to win”

The future of De’Aaron Fox has been more a national storyline than local throughout this season, as the soon-to-be 27-year-old is working to be eligible for a supermax extension this summer.
Fox joined Golden State forward Draymond Green on the latest episode of The Draymond Green podcast this week, where he discussed improving his game year-by-year, joining Under Armour and Curry Brand, and his NBA future.
Of course, the final topic there seems to have stolen the show in Sacramento.
“I would love to be here and retire here. … But at the end of the day, I want to win.”

Any player in his position would have passed on the extension Kings’ general manager Monte McNair offered him this offseason, especially when the potential of significantly more money is right around the corner.
Throughout his first six years with the Kings, De’Aaron Fox has made the playoffs on one occasion. Unsurprisingly, he’s expressed a desire for higher levels of NBA success.
Adding DeMar DeRozan via sign-and-trade this offseason is a clear sign of attempted improvement, but their current 13-14 record isn’t ideal growth from years prior.
Again, every player wants to win, and De’Aaron Fox should not be blamed for that thought process. The current Kings have a notable talent level; it’s just about achieving some level of postseason success from here on out.
When is the next game for De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings?
Sacramento will continue a five-game homestand on Thursday night in the first of two straight games against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Earlier this season on October 26th, the Kings fell short in Los Angeles, losing to the Lakers by a final of 131-127 as LeBron James took over in the fourth quarter (16 points, five rebounds, six assists in the period).
