In over 40 years of basketball, the Sacramento Kings have played in two Christmas Day games. Those two games included the best Kings teams we have ever seen and some of the best rivalry games.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to Sactown Sports 1140 listeners and readers, from our family to yours!
December 25, 2002: The Rematch
After the infamous 2002 Western Conference Finals, the Kings traveled to Staples Center to take on the world-champion Lakers for the first time since being knocked out of the playoffs.
Sacramento got their revenge, spoiling Christmas in Los Angeles with a 105-99 win, led by 25 points and 13 rebounds from Chris Webber. Peja Stojakovic had 26 points as the Kings handed the Lakers their fourth loss in five games.

December 25, 2003: Hobbled Kings fall to Dallas
Missing Peja Stojakovic and Chris Webber, Sacramento blew a 16-point halftime lead as Dirk Nowitzki scored 31 points en route to a 111-103 Mavericks victory at Arco Arena.
Mike Bibby led the Kings in scoring with 23 points, as Sacramento fell to 20-7 on the season.

More Sacramento Kings coverage from Sactown Sports
Allen Stiles was joined by Evan Sidery, NBA reporter and insider for Forbes, to discuss the latest with De’Aaron Fox’s future with the Sacramento Kings, the trade market landscape around the NBA as a whole, and more.
Sacramento (13-17) has lost four consecutive games and sits at 12th in the highly competitive Western Conference.
Given that reality, Allen asked Evan his opinion on whether the Kings could do anything that would be enough to convince Fox to stay in California’s capital.
When is the next Sacramento Kings game?
Following a short holiday break, Sacramento will conclude a five-game homestand on Thursday night when they face the Detroit Pistons at Golden 1 Center.
Last year, the Kings and Detroit split the two-game regular season series as both road teams came away victorious.
