Jared Weiss helps preview Kings upcoming matchup in Boston

Jan 9, 2025, 5:04 PM

Allen Stiles was joined by Jared Weiss, NBA Reporter for The Athletic , who previously specialized in covering the Boston Celtics. With the Sacramento Kings set to put their five-game winning streak to the test Friday night in TD Garden, they discussed the upcoming matchup.

“They’re the defending champions for a reason,” Keegan Murray said after Wednesday’s practice.

“They’re playing at a really high level, shooting the three ball at a historic rate, so we just have to try to get them to be uncomfortable like we have to other teams recently and obviously play a high level if we want to beat them.”

Jared and Allen dove into some of the tricky matchups the Kings may have to deal with in Boston, specifically surrounding star forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

It may be the first time the Sacramento Kings have a fully healthy roster going into a game (dependent on the status of De’Aaron Fox), but it won’t be easy for them to extend their streak to six straight victories.

Brenden Nunes, Frankie Cartoscelli, and Chris Watkins spend the latest Return of the Roar episode talking about all they’ve noticed with the Sacramento Kings over their recent stretch.

How much of it has to do with the change from Mike Brown to Doug Christie a little over a week and a half ago?
