The Drive Guys, Kevin “Whitey” Gleason and Kyle Draper, play-by-play broadcaster for the Sacramento Kings, were joined by former Kings general manager, head coach, and broadcaster, local legend Jerry Reynolds.
The trio discussed Sacramento’s 2-2 start to the season that included disappointing breakdowns against Minnesota and Los Angeles before defeating Portland and Utah.
Jerry Reynolds made note of their new look offense with DeMar DeRozan, along with the ongoing conversation surrounding Kevin Huerter and Keon Ellis.
“To me, (Huerter) has always been a surprsingly good rebounder,” Jerry Reynolds said. “I think Coach (Mike) Brown has really done a nice job. He’s got everybody active.”
A common point of contention was Coach Brown’s decision to not play Ellis a single minute in their second game of the regular season. The former Kings’ manager/coach gave his opinion on what could have been taking place there and how the defensive specicalist has played his role since.
