Keegan Murray named to 2024 Men’s USA Select Team

Fifteen athletes, including one member of the Sacramento Kings, have been named to the 2024 USA Basketball Men’s Select Team, which will train with the USA Basketball Men’s National Team as they prepare for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Keegan Murray will join fellow top-five picks Brandon Miller, Jabari Smith Jr., and others in Las Vegas next weekend when the Select Team will train with the USA Men’s National Team.

The sharpshooting forward will gain experience training with the national teams from July 6-8th as Murray continues his USA basketball journey after spending time with the Select Team last summer.

Murray, the fourth overall pick in the 2022 draft, averaged 15.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range over 77 games during his second NBA season.

Joining Murray on the 2024 USA Basketball Select Team are:

Jalen Duren (Detroit Pistons), Cooper Flagg (Duke University), Langston Galloway (Free Agent), Nigel Hayes-Davis (Fenerbahçe, Turkey), Trayce Jackson-Davis (Golden State Warriors), Jaime Jaquez Jr. (Miami Heat), Brandon Miller (Charlotte Hornets), Trey Murphy (New Orleans Pelicans), Brandin Podziemski (Golden State Warriors), Micah Potter (Utah Jazz/Salt Lake City Stars), Payton Pritchard (Boston Celtics), Jabari Smith Jr. (Houston Rockets), Jalen Suggs (Orlando Magic) and Amen Thompson (Houston Rockets).

When is the next NBA off-season date of interest?

Now that the NBA Draft is in the rearview, all eyes will shift to the start of free agency.

All 30 teams will be able to negotiate free-agent deals with players beginning this Sunday, June 30th, at 3:00 PM PDT.

Sacramento already did some heavy lifting by agreeing to a four-year, $78 million deal with Sixth Man of the Year runner-up Malik Monk, as the two sides agreed on a long-term contract last weekend.
