According to the Kings, guard Boogie Ellis has officially signed with Sacramento after playing on their Summer League team.

Under Summer League head coach Doug Christie in Las Vegas, Ellis averaged 11.2 points on 51.3 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from three in their limited sample size, averaging 17.3 minutes over five games.

Boogie Ellis is the third University of Southern California alumni joining the Kings in training camp. DeMar DeRozan and Jordan McLaughlin are the other two.

A pronounced scorer at the college level, he upped his defensive pressure throughout Summer League to the point where Christie was complimenting the infectious nature of “Boogie energy” on the floor.

In his 2023-24 season at USC, Boogie Ellis averaged 16.5 points, three assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 33.5 minutes per game over 29 games.

Sources previously told Sactown Sports 1140that Boogie Ellis is signed to an Exhibit 10 contract. He will have a chance to compete for a roster spot throughout training camp, but this deal allows him the chance to do so.

When is the next Sacramento Kings offseason date of interest?

Now that we know when the Kings will suit up for their season-opener, we can look forward to October 24th for the Beam Team’s season-opening matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Training camps will begin at the end of September, meaning there could still be a move or two up general manager Monte McNair’s sleeve to round out Sacramento’s roster before players report to Golden 1 Center.
