Law Murray on DeMar DeRozan’s ‘special’ 54-point Drew League performance

Law Murray, NBA beat reporter for The Athletic, joined Allen Stiles and Chris Watkins on Tuesday to discuss DeMar DeRozan and his recent Drew League pro-am performance, for which Murray was in attendance for.
“This was a special performance, even for the Drew,” Murray said. “DeMar is different.”
Despite participating in the Drew League for nearly twenty years, DeMar DeRozan had not won the championship in that tournament until the most recent run. In the final game, a single match to decide it all, his team trailed by 25 points with not much time remaining.

DeMar DeRozan tallied 54 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists in the final game, en route to his first Drew League championship. As a native to Southern California, you can only imagine how much he enjoyed finally getting a championship in his hometown pro-am.
Not long from now, the likely future Hall Of Famer will be wearing royal purple in California’s Capital alongside De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, Keegan Murray, and Malik Monk.
