Following a successful four-year stint with the Sacramento Kings, Lindsey Harding is heading to Los Angeles.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Harding has agreed to join recently-hired head coach JJ Redick’s staff beginning with the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Harding, 40, took home G-League Coach of the Year honors following a strong season with the Stockton Kings–her first season as head coach of Sacramento’s minor league affiliate.
The exit of Harding adds to a summer of changes for Kings head coach Mike Brown’s head coaching depth chart. Former associate head coach Jordi Fernandez was hired by the Brooklyn Nets to be their next head coach, taking fellow former Kings assistants Deividas Dulkys and Dutch Gaitley with him.

More on new Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Lindsey Harding
As the first black female G-League head coach, Lindsey Harding is accustomed to breaking barriers. To her, it’s all basketball, but she sits back and appreciates the journey in moments. The former first-overall pick in the 2007 WNBA Draft is looking to become the first female NBA head coach.
“Hiring a woman is not a risk,” she said after being named the 2023-24 G League Coach of the Year.
Harding is recently removed from a disappointing end to Stockton’s postseason, suffering a conference finals loss to the Oklahoma City Blue. It was a successful first season for Harding in Stockton, leading her team to the best record in the regular season.
