It took a bit of haggling, but in the end, the Sacramento Kings and Mike Brown got a deal done.

Reports broke Friday night that the Kings and Brown had agreed to terms on a three-year, $30 million contract extension. The new deal puts him in a nearly identical echelon of NBA head coaching contracts to Mike Budenholzer and Doc Rivers, locking the Sacramento head coach down through the 2026-27 NBA season.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was first with the news, with The Athletic’s Shams Charania confirmed the details thereafter.

Mike Brown had a salary of $4-million going into next season, which will be increased along with a two-year extension. According to ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski, his salary next season will be increased to $8.5 million which will remain consistent through the 2026-27 NBA season.
