Rumors continue to surround the Sacramento Kings’ current head coach, Mike Brown, and his future status with the organization as he enters the final season of his contract.

With the recent reporting of an offer that could reach up to three years and $27 million with bonuses, Stiles & Watkins compared that deal to other NBA head coach contracts. Which tier of coach does Sacramento currently belong in, and what’s their salary range? Let’s take a look.

Sacramento’s offer to Mike Brown: 3 years, $21-27 million — $7-9M/yr

  • Gregg Popovich: 5 years, $80 million – $16M/yr
  • Steve Kerr: 2 years, $35 million – $17.5M/yr
  • Erik Spoelstra: 8 years, $120 million – $15M/yr
  • Tyronn Lue: 5 years, $70 million – $14M/yr
  • Monte Williams: 6 years, $78.5 million – $13M/yr
  • Mike Budenholzer: 5 years, $50 million – $10M/yr
  • Doc Rivers: 4 years, $40 million – $10M/yr
  • Nick Nurse – 4 years, $32 million – $8M/yr

Again, incentives in the presented Mike Brown need to be considered, even though their specifics are not known now.

Stiles & Watkins compared Brown to those listed and discussed what payday they believe he deserves.
